God breaks us not so that we will be ineffective. Don’t be afraid of brokenness. Brokenness is the prerequisite to our transformation. God has to break us first before He molds us. Just like a potter molding a clay.

When God breaks us – it is for our joy knowing that we will never find true happiness in anything but in Him. John Piper said it best, “God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. He breaks us so that we may be conformed to the image of Christ, who himself conformed to the image of broken humanity.
