I’ll blog a series on understanding MEN and WOMEN by looking through the book of SONG OF SONGS. Hope this series helps.
ON UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
Song 1:5 ¶ Dark am I, yet lovely, daughters of Jerusalem, dark like the tents of Kedar, like the tent curtains of Solomon.
Song 1:6 ¶ Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun. My mother’s sons were angry with me and made me take care of the vineyards; my own vineyard I had to neglect.
LESSON # 1: YOU CAN NEVER FULLY UNDERSTAND WOMEN.
Here is the beloved talking about how lovely she is in verse 5. Dark but lovely – just like your typical morena. Can you feel the confidence. Dark but lovely. Picture Halle Berry at her prime. Dark but lovely. Picture Beyonce. Dark but lovely.
but move to the next verse – she starts whining and telling people not to stare at her because she is dark.
LESSON #2: YOUR WOMAN NEEDS TO KNOW SHE IS BEAUTIFUL.
No matter how lovely she is, sometimes she feels that she is ugly. I don’t know why but they do feel that way. Women need to know from their man that they are beautiful. They go to great lengths to beautify themselves so that their man might appreciate them. SHE NEEDS TO KNOW SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. The whole world might tell her she is but unless her MAN tells it to her she will still feel ugly.
Look how the MAN shows her how beautiful she is:
Song 1:15 How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves.
