Reading through the book Primal by Mark Batterson and this particular study struck me. Author Charles Siebert shares a scientific yet poetic depiction of a heart transplant he observed in a hospital. In his study, he concluded that transplant recipients don’t just receive a new heart. Along with this new heart, they receive a whole new sensory responses, cravings and habit.

Charles Siebert calls it the tribe of the transplanted. It also reflects our heart as we draw near to Christ. The Bible says

Ezek. 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

When we give our hearts to Christ, He gives our heart to us. We become a tribe of the transplanted.
