4. Sacrifice family for ministry. – we have seen this over and over again. The pastor’s family hates the church. Why? Because the church has taken away their daddy. We always find time to counsel one more person, make one more sermon but losing one more night to spend time with our wife, one more day with the kids, one more school play of our daughter, one more basketball game of our son. We have to understand as pastors that how we manage our family is a reflection of our integrity as ministers. Yes we have a world to win, hopefully our family are as excited as we are!

5. Sacrifice ministry for family – some of us take it to the extreme. We put family first (w/c should be of no problem) but in the course of doing that we excuse ourselves from the responsibility of ministry. We can’t seem to find pastor. Oh maybe he is with his family – DURING WORKING HOURS? Let’s go to work. Let’s make the most of our 40-45 hour work week just like everybody else.
