The night I encountered demons in my room

It was not a usual night for me. I was sick, diagnosed with typhoid fever and a bad case of SINGAW. This was I think 2002. I slept in the same room as my little brother at that time. At around 230 – 3am something happened.

I was sleeping soundly at that time when I was awakened by a force that was trying to pin me against the wall. It was a weird and surreal feeling. I saw my body lying down but I was being pinned against the wall. I tried fighting to no avail since I was sick. I tried calling the name of Jesus but was having a hard time. The force then pulled me down back to my bed.

Now I knew I was awake. This was getting to be weirder than PBB teen clash 2010. I couldn’t speak then all of a sudden the dark force came again breathing heavily in my face that I couldn’t breathe. I remember tapping the bed to wake my brother who was in a deep sleep – to no avail.

HUFF, PUFF, WHOOSH – I was suffocating. He was trying to envelope me. He was heavy. I couldn’t move. I was trying to call out the name Jesus under my breath – the dark, evil spirit left again.

In the darkness of my room, I started praying that God would send his angel to protect me and that at the name of Jesus I rebuke and cast this demons out of my room.

After a few seconds I saw dark man-like figures maybe three of them running around the room so once again I call on the name of Jesus. After calling His name, the demons left the room. I heard the door opened and slammed shut.

After that they never came back.

Here are some lessons about spiritual warfare I’ve learned that night:

1. Demons are real – never underestimate them. At the same time never overestimate them.

2. Jesus is the name above every name. Every knee will bow and confess that He is Lord.

3. Volume is not a factor in prayer. I could not speak audibly that time but under my breath and at times just in my mind I took authority over those demons and God answered my prayer. Sometimes a louder volume is just trying to mask the fear that we have.

4. The devil likes to play the fear game. He wants you to think that he is big, bad, mean and unbeatable. Without Christ that maybe right but with Christ he must flee

James 4:7 ¶ Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Col. 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Col. 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
