Romans 1
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
As we represent Christ every single day to the world, we have to understand something fundamental. We are called to be salt and light to the world. What we do is the calling God has given us. There is no such thing as a higher calling. When God calls you to do something, it means it is the highest calling.
Whether you are a doctor, call center agent, teacher or pastor – the reason it is sacred is because you have been called and set apart for the gospel of God. You possess something that the world needs. You have the gospel in you. Jesus is with you. It is a privilege to be living knowing this.
As Christians, we can tap into the resurrection power that is found in Christ. Depend on that every single day of your life as you live out your calling.
