Words you wouldn’t want to hear from your spouse. Words of this nature don’t happen overnight. Unresolved fights, hidden anger, bad communication, zero sex life, going farther away from God are some reasons why this happen.
What do you do when you have no more feelings for your spouse?
1. Remember that when you enter into a marriage covenant it was a decision not based on feelings but on a commitment. A commitment to God and to your Spouse.
If you are a businessman you would understand what I mean. If you enter into an agreement, even if things don’t turn out as you want it to be, you stay and fight for that commitment. You don’t quit, you don’t give up. It is the same way with your marriage – the feeling might be gone but there are hundreds of creative ways to bring back that lovin’ feeling.
God honors the person who keeps the marriage covenant. He is a miracle worker. i don’t know the problems you might be facing in your marriage but having God involved in your marriage gives you a fighting chance to make marriage work again.
2. Remember the good old days.
Review why you fell in love in the first place. Remember your dates. Remember those fancy dinners. Remember how she went gaga over you.
Make a list of all the things you like about your spouse and be reminded why you fell in love with her.
3. Remember the kids
The casualties of divorce are the kids. Now not all kids become dysfunctional but a lot are. Don’t be selfish couples. Think about the next generation. It is worth to fight for your marriage.
4. Remember Jesus.
Jesus loves us inspite of our rebellion and sin. How many times have we lost our feelings to love Jesus? Did his love wane because we loved less. The Bible even says
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
