The Battlefield of the Mind

Romans 12

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Brothers and sisters, the battle is in the mind. Satan is in an all out war against our mind. The battlefield is in the mind. Thus when Paul urges us to offer ourselves to God, he does so in light of God’s mercy for our salvation. We have to know who we are in Christ. As we know our identity in Christ, we are able to not conform to the pattern of this world. Christ has given us His righteousness – we are no longer of the world.

We are renewed by the transforming of our mind. We have to fill our minds with God’s scripture and the presence of the Holy Spirit. The will of God is to do what He wants.
