Colossians 1:27 English Standard Version (ESV)
27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
As Christians, we have always said that we have received Jesus in our lives. Many take this truth for granted. Until we get a revelation of what it means to have Jesus in our lives – we will settle in thinking that Jesus is just our ticket to heaven.
When Paul declared that mystery is revealed – that Christ, the Son of God, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords chose us to be His body here on earth. I am not saying we are little gods. What Colossians was saying was that we are Christ’s representative in this world. If people want to see Jesus – they will observe our lives.
What this also means is that when I move in faith, lay hands on the sick, share the gospel, plant a church, advance God’s kingdom – I am tapping on the power and authority God has given me. ( Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:16-18)
Christ in me, makes it possible for me to live in faith and not in my strength. It is Christ who gives me hope. It is Christ to whom all glory is due!
