THE FEAR OF FEELING INFERIOR, STUPID AND CLUELESS
Yes that’s right – the preacher of faith can sometimes feel inferior. The pastor with a big smile confidently preaching God’s word has an inferiority complex and honestly it’s all right.
Now before you throw sticks and stones one me let me explain.
I am 30 years old. No academic achievement except for my gold medal when i was 9 years old and the loyalty award my alma matter gave me.
I planted a church right smack in the commercial center of Metro Manila. We have millionaires, businessmen, entrepreneurs, career people, retired people, young and upcoming leaders and influencers, high earning network marketers, sons of taipans, educated people with PHD,MD, and all the alphabets after their name – so could I be given the privilege to feel inferior or look stupid and be clueless. A pastor should learn how to honor his congregration’s worth and work. If we could learn to humble ourselves and learn from men and women of wisdom we could achieve more. I remember a businessman giving me a timely advice during my first year in church that I took to heart and apply. I saw a growth spurt happen because I admitted that I am not mr know it all.
A businessman wants to consult to me about a business decision that involves millions of pesos, what do i do? I would not in any way give him any business advice because I am not a business expert. I admit my inferiority and connect him with a successful businessman in church. I pray for him and ask the Holy Spirit to empower him and give him wisdom to make the right decision ( that would be my field)
SERVANT LEADERSHIP
The feeling of inferiority is just a feeling. Jesus made a command to his disciples that would feed on a leader’s inferiority complex. Jesus told them to lead by serving. WHAT!!! Serve my team, serve my congregation. Do the dirty work! Clean their feet.
Mark 9:35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
