Have you ever been to a church where nobody cares? Millions of people do every week and that is why many don’t come back to church.
Here is a Biblical principle that every Christian needs to know:
EVERYONE MATTERS TO GOD AND MAKE SURE THEY KNOW IT.
How do we communicate that they matter to God
1. Make them feel special.
Greet them as they enter church. Get to know their names. Call them by their name. Be ready to assist them when they have questions.
2. Be excellent
Pastors – prepare for the message and preach it like it is your last. Communicate to them that they matter by really knowing what you are preaching and not just winging it.
Check the cleanliness of your church – from the comfort room, floors, ceiling, smell of the place.
Foresee technical problems and find solutions.
3. Treat your full time staff as if they matter because they matter.
If your team is happy – the result would be higher productivity in their respective jobs.If your staff is happy, your volunteers will be happy. If your volunteers are happy – the people attending in church will be happy. When they are happy – your visitors will be happy. Now, won’t that make you happy?
Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? Luke 15:4
And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders Luke 15:5
and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ Luke 15:6
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7
