Nobody Owes You


Lately, I’ve seen posts from leaders that sound like the world—or their people—owes them something.

Respect. Loyalty. Recognition.

Here’s the problem:

The moment we believe people owe us, we slip into entitlement. And entitlement kills leadership.

When you think you’re owed, you:

• Stop taking full responsibility.

• Avoid the hard, honest look in the mirror.

• Fail to set healthy boundaries.

Leadership isn’t about collecting debts.

It’s about stewarding influence for the good of others.

Set boundaries. Take ownership.

Lead with humility—not entitlement.

That’s the kind of leadership people trust… and follow.
