They say that people in general would respond more positively to beautiful people. It happens in the world of entertainment, in the business world and in church. Yes even church!!!!

It is really frustrating how many people would judge on the external beauty of people. The problem with this – who defines what is beautiful? Because frankly beauty is defined by media and they are doing a bad job defining it and we are eating what they are feeding us.

How many of us would spend hundreds of pesos to look “beautiful”. How many thin girls would diet to death so they could be as skinny as a broom. Is that beautiful? Maybe or maybe not.

The other side of the problem is how we as ordinary “beautiful” looking people would treat beautiful people differently. We are all alike. I love how one of my friend says it, “Umuutot din mga yan.” (beautiful people also fart).

I have seen beautiful people. I am surrounded by beautiful people. Fat beautiful people, Thin beautiful people, short beautiful people, tall beautiful people, clear face beautiful people, pimple faced beautiful people, pangong maganda, matulis ang ilong na maganda.

We have to understand that we are all created in the image of God. We are all beautiful.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  Psalms 139:14

The only thing that makes us ugly is SIN. Sin destorys our beautiful identity. Sin destroys the wonderful plans that the Lord has. Sin distorts us to thinking that beauty is external. Sin makes us treat people unfairly.

So for the sake of the beautiful people everywhere, treat everyone as beautiful because we truly are!
