This might be some words you wont hear in church. Good thing we are not in church!
Masturbation is a sign of passive manhood. In masturbation, a guy looks at porn materials and naked girls who have no idea that they are being watched. There is no interaction. It is a one way thing. It is passive and it is just absurd.
A Real man lays down his true intentions, respects a girl, courts and wins her heart. He then marries her if she says YES and then they make babies. Masturbation is never part of the process of winning a girl’s heart.
Men who looks at porn acts cowardly. He tries to take advantage of a girl who doesn’t even respond to him. He loves the feeling of control but in reality he is being controlled. Controlled by pictures, by images, by demons of lust.
Even if porn and masturbation is pathetic, it is addicting and powerful. Why? Because of our sinful nature which allows the demons of lust to take control of that area in our life.
James 1 says 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
So how do we break this sin of lust?
1. Acknowledge that you need help. Talk to someone about your struggle/addiction. Ask Jesus to cleanse you of your sin. He is ready to forgive you and give you a fresh start.
2. Repent. Repentance means no turning back. Remove objects that would trigger your mind to lust. Ask Jesus to renew your mind. Read the Bible and cleanse your mind with the WORD.
3. Join a small group in your church. Find trusted friends and start or join a bible study group/ support group to help you overcome your struggle. Never be afraid to disclose. It is the only way to freedom.
