2 Kings 6:15-17

When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

As I was reading this story about Elisha, I am reminded of who fights my battle. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by what life throws at us. Some are literally in a battle that seems impossible to win. Some of us might have resigned to the fact that only God can turn things around.

I want to stop you there and let you realise that you might be hitting something big here. In life’s journey, most of the time, it is not our talents, our connections or our abilities that can turn things around. We have to stop looking at our own ability and achievements to declare that we can do this.

We have to acknowledge GOD. God is the one who can turn things around. He has turned things around for me before and He is still in the business in doing miracles in our lives.

The same way in the story of Elisha, we have to open our spiritual eyes to see that God is on our side. The next time you come to a point of exasperation and are asking, “WHAT SHALL I DO?”, open your spiritual eyes and see God has everything under His control.
