One Heart, One Mind, One Wallet

Acts 4:32-35 New International Version (NIV)

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

This is one for the church leaders. Our role is to build a culture in our church that people would be in one heart and mind. How can we do that? Isn’t that too hard? Yes, I believe so but I also know there is just but one message that could unite your church – it is the preaching of the gospel in its truest sense.

You see when it comes to a point that people shared everything they had – it means that even in their finances and possessions they have acknowledged that they don’t own it – they are just stewards of the blessings. I know this is so radical but only the preaching of the gospel can do this to the church – not any motivational preaching on money but an invitation to transfer ownership from us to God.

33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all

The power of Christ’s resurrection and His grace was continually preached in the early church. People knew they had everything they need in Christ. They were in one page when it comes to the gospel thus God’s grace powerfully works in their midst.

34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
