In View of God’s Mercy

Romans 12

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

God calls us to an ultimate sacrifice = to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice as our act of worship. He calls us to die to ourselves but he commands us to do so in light of His mercy. A person who has experienced God’s mercy is willing to die to him/herself. He is compelled to live for Christ. We have received His mercy and grace, what else do we need thus we offer our bodies and our lives for the glory of God
