First Sunday of the month and our team was assigned to lead the worship service. Oh yes I was very excited because it was my first time to do vocals and play the guitar at the same time. πŸ™‚ Everyone in the team were very excited to praise and glorify God and most especially, we were excited to usher the people towards HIM through praise and worship songs. πŸ™‚ But that’s not really the story. Hehe! πŸ™‚

After singing praise and worship, I attended the last service and listened to Pastor Dennis’ preaching. He was preaching about OVERFLOW: God as our Provider.

  • Shared to us to BE RICH.
  • That it is not about how good or nice we are but how GREAT our God is
  • We are already living in the overflow
  • All He has is ours

” β€˜My son,’ the father said, β€˜you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.” Luke 15:31

And this is one thing that really struck me, Pastor Dennis shared how he gave up his iPad when God commanded him to bless it to the other pastor. And He did with a joyful heart. I was encouraged. And then while listening to the preaching, God reminded me of something:

Early morning, that very the same day, my guitar was beside my bed. When I woke up, I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was my guitar, and then I received a word “GIVE IT TO THE CHURCH”. That time, in my mind I said, “ano yun? (parang hindi ko magets)”. And so I just ignored it. I did not really pay attention on it given the fact that I just woke up.

It was just like a flashback. I looked at my guitar at the stage and I was amazed and overjoyed. I believe God was speaking to me that time and telling me to give my guitar to the church. I bowed down and prayed and said,”Yes Lord, I will give it to the church. And thank you that I am already living in overflow.” I just can’t take away my smile on my face and I felt like my heart’s jumping because of joy πŸ™‚

And so after the service, I shared it to some of my brothers and sisters at church and then went to the admins and told them that I am giving my guitar to the church πŸ™‚

I remember Kuya Charles, Josh, and Louie told me, “Nikki, malay mo ang palitan ni Lord yan yung taylor guitar pa.” That time I don’t have any idea about Taylor guitars and so I researched about it. While surfing the net, I’ve found out that Taylor guitars is one of world’s best guitars. I fell in love with it. I browsed the net and look for a guitar that I would want to have. After that, I prayed to God for a new Taylor guitar. I even asked some of my brothers and sisters to help me pray for it πŸ™‚

Pastor Dennis called and he said that he has shared my story. A man came to him and gave a check and ask Pastor Dennis to hand it to me. More than the blessings that God has been giving me, what makes me more joyful, is seeing other people being encouraged on the greatness of God and I believe God is doing the same thing in the lives of other people πŸ™‚

DECEMBER 12, 2010

My Papa is living in Paranaque, he was with my little brother and they were watching the television. It was around 10:30am that time.Β Then he accidentally turned the TV to other channel. He had turned the TV at the channel wherein Mr. RJ of RJ guitars was announcing that it’s their 50th anniversary and they are having a 50% sale to all the their products including the TAYLOR GUITARS. According to my Papa, Mr . RJ even mentioned that never in the history of Taylor guitars that they give discounts. But because it’s their anniversary, they were allowed to do it. But another thing that Mr. RJ announced is that the 50% will only be up to 11am only. And so my Papa rushed to the mall of Asia. My sister was even joking at him and said “Papa, hindi ka na maliligo?” :)) And so he went to RJ guitars at MOA. My papa knew that he will not be able to make it. When he got there, he said that the line was too long and he was at the last. And then He just prayed. He went to the front of the store to check how many Taylor guitars were left. And there were only two left. There were three teenagers who were in the front line, my Papa tried to plead with them and shared to them why he wants to buy the guitar, that we’ve been praying for that guitar, and he shared my story to them. My papa said to me, it was a miracle. The three teenagers let him go first so he can get the guitar and to be able to make it for the 50% discount. Another miracle was that no person from the line gets angry or mad even though they came earlier.

When he got inside the store, the security guard said “hawakan niyo na po yung mga bibilin niyo”, so that they will already consider it as sold. There were two Taylor guitars left and papa held the other one, He took the cheapest. But he said that he felt like God was pointing him to the other Taylor guitar which is more expensive. And so he took the expensive one. And in his mind he said that Β the guitar will be use for God’s glory and so it should be the excellent guitar regardless of the price. Papa was able to bought it and was able to avail to 50% discount. πŸ™‚

He said, when he got that guitar, inside his car, he was really crying, not because he spend a lot of money. LOL πŸ™‚ (just kidding! :D) but because he was amazed of GOD’s greatness. πŸ™‚ He did not plan to buy the guitar that day. He doesn’t even know that RJ guitars is on SALE, not until he saw and heard it on the TV. πŸ™‚

Papa was crying while telling to me this story and so did I. πŸ™‚ It’s just amazing how God will bless you

Papa and I knew that we cannot afford to buy the guitar but we believed GOD would provide it. I did claimed that guitar even before I have it. I prayed for it, my papa prayed for it, and even some of my brothers and sisters prayed for it too. Papa told me that it was not from him but from my father in heaven, God. He said God just used him to bless me with that Taylor guitar.

Before I received the guitar that day, early in the morning during my quiet time, I came across at

  • John 16:24 “…Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete”

No words can express, determine, or measure the greatness of GOD πŸ™‚

And so to you who’s reading this, I challenge you. πŸ™‚ If you’ve been praying for something (a gadget, guitar, etc.), for someone, for promotion, or for a breakthrough:

  • just continue to PRAY for it. πŸ™‚
  • ask other people to help you pray for it πŸ™‚
  • OBEY whatever He commands you, even if it means giving up something or someone that is so important to you. πŸ™‚
  • TRUST Him πŸ™‚
  • GIVE generously (God sees your heart :D)
  • Pursue it, don’t give up, don’t lose hope πŸ™‚
