How can you stop me from preaching???

Acts 4:17-21 New International Version (NIV)

17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”

You do not force a Christian to preach, share, disciple, tithe, give. A person who experiences God’s unconditional love and radical grace is compelled to live out his life for the glory of God. You can never stop a man who is in love with His Savior. The Pharisees’ problems was not the boldness of the disciples – the disciples can’t help bur share it. The real problem for the Pharisees is that the disciples understood the gospel and they can’t help but share it while the teachers of the law are stuck in their moralism and legalism that they cannot preach it with grace.

18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Gospel literate people and gospel awakened people are different. Many heard the gospel but not many have experienced it. It is your typical sinner’s prayer and give your life to Jesus so you won’t go to hell. The gospel is more than that. It is our lifeline.

That is why you would see the difference between a person who knows the gospel and those who have experienced it. My prayer for today is that we will daily experience the gospel. Thank you Jesus!!!

21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.
