fight it or fund it?

We have been seeing tremendous growth in our Friday nights College Ministry event called, THRIBE! In light of the growth, I feel like expanding our ministry which means increased our budget for our college ministries.

I had mixed advices from the people I talked with. Some of them said

“Don’t invest too much, they are just college students.”
“Don’t you think it would be better to spend the money somewehere else.”
” College students don’t give much – it might be a losing cause”

Al Ries, author of the book FOCUS, said: “THE NEXT BIG MARKETING THING WOULD ALMOST ALWAYS COME FROM THE NEXT GENERATION.”

( this is not the verbatim quote, fyi)

That hit me! Al Ries – not a pastor knows that the next big thing (whether its marketing, business or church) would almost always come from the next generation)

I look at Victory – the church I am affiliated with. I saw how they invested on young people. On the onset it looked like a very bad investment but it was a price the founders of our church was willing to pay.

There are only 2 things we as pastors can respond to CAMPUS MINISTRY, YOUTH MINISTRY HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE MINISTRY, KIDS MINISTRY

FIGHT IT OR FUND IT?

I choose to fund it!
