In a lot of business books, they teach you how to have an exit strategy. If the business did not fly have an exit strategy and if the business does fly also have an exit strategy to sell the company.

In a lot of churches and Christian circles, they also teach us how to have an exit strategy. In fact the first thing they preached is “if you accept Jesus as your Savior and invite Him into your heart, you will go to heaven and not hell.

Here is the problem with the exit strategy – Exit strategy only focuses on how I could get out of this or what I can get from this relationship. There is no commitment beyond what’s in it for me.

A disciple of Christ does not have an exit strategy. He knows he is going to heaven anyway. A disciple has a commitment strategy. How do I live this life that God has called me to live. How do I work out my salvation? What is the good works that God has prepared in advance for me to do? What does being a forceful mean taking hold of the kingdom entails? How do I go and make disciples of all nations?

What is your commitment strategy?
