Demons and Spiritual Pride

The main reason Lucufer was cast out of heaven was pride. He thought he could be like God.

Same thing with Adam and Eve when they succumb to the temptation of the devil that if they eat the fruit they will be like God.

The new age movement preaches the same message – we are gods

The self – help movement and books delivers the same message – YOU CAN DO IT just BELIEVE!

Believe in what?

A lot of Christians also falls for the same message coated in scriptures to support humanistic view. I believe the enemy still tries to lure us with the same temptation –  PRIDE. To us Christians – spiritual pride.

In the book of Luke – Jesus gives us a valuable lesson on demons and pride

Luke 10:18  ¶     He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Jesus reminds us that Satan has been defeated. They are fighting a losing fight. They don’t stand a chance. The disciples at this time was starting to gain some pride because of the authority they have in Christ so He reminds them of where they stand without Christ.

Luke 10:20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Everything we achieve, who we are, what we have become is because of God’s gracious love.

Col. 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
Col. 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
