Daily Grind 22: Time is Gold
Time is gold, and so are we
But only God can make a tree
– Thammie Sy
I know how the poem my wife made makes no sense. She said this during one of the skits we were having in church. It was to make people laugh though it really doesn’t make any sense.
It reminds me of how my mother will treat time as so precious that in my young mind it doesn’t make sense.
My parents grew up poor so they work really hard. They also made sure that their kids would all grow up working hard.
So as part of the training, my mom would wake us up early every working day because we were to be the first man in our business store and we should be the one to close the store everyday.
She goes to our room and in a panic loud voice would say, “wah-koh, it’s already 8am. We will be late. Thinking it’s really 8am we have to go up and take a quick bath, get our work clothes on and eat breakfast fast.
Till we realize that she woke us up at 630am and we were all ready by 730am.
That was how they trained all of us. Time is gold.
Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days aright so that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
