Both Lord and Christ

Acts 2:36 New International Version (NIV)

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

Have you ever heard accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? I think something is wrong with personal. It is never personal. It is as public as you can get when you declare Jesus is both Lord and Savior/Messiah.

Lordship means kingship. One who rules your life. It means the evidence of your faith is seen.

Messiah means Savior because you are helpless and needy. Have you seen a helpless person. He is in dire need of help. He shouts HELP!!! He needs a Savior. It is as public as you can get.

And I hope we respond as the early disciples:

Acts 2:37-39

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
