4 directives part 2

3.    With a message

Luke 24:46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Luke 24:48 You are witnesses of these things.

–  Churches must not fall into the trap of “it’s the style, externals, and culture. We are sent with a message to all kinds of people. No matter what culture the message remains the same. We are sinners, we need Jesus.

Is. 43:9 ¶     All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of their gods foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things?Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”
Is. 43:10     “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD,“and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.    Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

Message will always be repentance and forgiveness of sins to be preached in his name to all nations.

4.    Empowered by the Spirit

Acts 1:6  ¶     So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
Acts 1:7  ¶     He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We can’t give too much credit to research, tecnique or strategies. At the end of the day we realize we are powerless without Christ. Our works are futile apart from the power of the Holy Spirit.

These are the 4 directives. Keep this in mind. This would help you plant a healthy missional church.
